# Stop renting your own business.

Ten rules for the people who roof, wire, plumb, cool and build the world, and for the software that should finally work for them.

## The short version

**SayDoo is an AI console for trade businesses.** It runs a roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or landscaping company on its own data and replaces the pile of software it rents today. This is what we believe, and why we built it.

- Your customers, jobs and invoices belong to you, not to the software that stores them.
- Software should be paid for what it gets done, not for how many people can log in.
- Per-seat pricing is a tax on hiring. SayDoo is not priced per seat.
- One console should replace the stack of apps that do not talk to each other.
- AI should do the work, and nothing reaches a customer until a person says so.

Somewhere in your truck there is a password you forgot. Somewhere in your office there is a bill for a seat nobody uses. And somewhere in between, a person is copying a customer's address from one app into another, by hand, at seven at night.

That is the deal the trades were handed. Rent the tools. Pay by the head. Do the real work in the gaps between them.

For twenty years big tech has rented business owners their own data, charged them by the seat, and kept the upside. It worked because there was no other way to build software for a small company. There is now.

**We think the deal is over.** Here is what replaces it.

## Rule 01: Your data belongs to you.

Every customer you earned, every job you finished, every photo of every roof: that is the company. Everything else is equipment.

Most of it lives inside software you rent, in a format you cannot read, behind a login someone else controls. Then you pay every month to look at it. If you stop paying, you lose the view of your own business.

We build it the other way round. Your book lives in a system you own. Nobody mines it, nobody sells it, and nobody rents it back to you.

> We don't want your data. We want your business to run better on it.

## Rule 02: Pay for results, not logins.

Software is sold by how many people can sign in. Nobody in the trades gets paid that way. A roofer is paid for a roof. A plumber is paid when the water runs. An electrician is paid when the lights come on.

Software should be held to the same standard. Proposals followed up. Inspections booked. Money found in a pipeline that went quiet. Customers flagged the morning after a storm. That is the product. The login is only the door.

> Results as a service. If it does not get something done, it does not earn the bill.

## Rule 03: Seats are a tax on growth.

Per-seat pricing means every hire raises the software bill. It punishes the exact thing you are trying to do. So owners ration logins, crews share passwords, and the truth about every job ends up living in one person's head or one office computer.

SayDoo is not priced per seat, and there are no tiers to climb. Office, crew, owner, the lot. Everybody gets every screen.

> Hiring a good person should never cost you a subscription.

## Rule 04: One console, not sixteen apps.

Add up what a trade business rents to get through a week and it looks something like this:

CRM · Texting · Review requests · Job photos · Measurements · Estimating · Proposals · Scheduling · Email marketing · Customer portal · Crew app · Job costing · Commissions · Weather alerts · Team chat · Warranty spreadsheet · One console

Sixteen logins that do not talk to each other, sixteen bills, and a person in the middle copying between them. The software is not doing the work. The person is.

One console replaces the pile. One login, every screen, one bill, and the whole team looking at the same customer at the same time.

## Rule 05: Software should do the work, not just write it down.

Most business software is a filing cabinet with a monthly fee. It remembers what happened and waits for somebody to do the next thing.

AI changes that, but only if it works on your own book. A chatbot bolted onto a form does not know who the Hendersons are. A console that holds every customer, job, photo and invoice you have does.

So you say "Book the Hendersons Tuesday at two and put it on John's list," and the appointment, the task and the note exist. You ask "Which proposals went cold?" and you get names, dollar amounts and who to call first.

> The work gets done in the sentence. Say it. Done.

## Rule 06: Nothing reaches a customer until you say so.

Your reputation took years to build. No machine gets to spend it without permission.

Every automation in SayDoo arrives switched off. Preview shows exactly what would have gone out, to whom, and when. The AI only sees what the person asking can see, and every change it makes is signed with that person's name.

> Let it draft. You decide.

## Rule 07: The intelligence works for you.

The same AI the largest companies on earth use is now available to a six-person roofing crew. The only question is who it works for.

Rented software puts AI inside its own product to make the product harder to leave. We put it inside your business to make the business better. You choose which model does which job, the best one where it matters and the inexpensive one where it does not, and you switch when a better one comes out.

We are not a software company that added AI. We are an AI maintenance and education company. We build your console, keep it running, and teach your team to do more with it than you thought possible.

## Rule 08: Your crew should not need an app store.

If a tool needs a training day, the crew will not use it, and they are right. Their job is on the roof, not on a screen.

SayDoo runs in the browser on the phone already in their pocket. No download, no install. They see today's jobs, and they put photos on the job instead of in somebody's camera roll. That is the whole ask.

The customer gets the same respect: their own login with photos, documents, the balance, and a way to reach you that is not voicemail. They stop calling to ask where things stand.

## Rule 09: Built in the field, not in a boardroom.

SayDoo was built inside **Carolinas Best Roofing & Construction** in Greensboro, North Carolina, and it runs that company today. Every screen is tested against real jobs, real crews, real storms and real customers before it reaches anyone else.

We did not study the trades from a conference room. We built for one, on a Tuesday, with the phone ringing and a crew waiting on a material order.

It started in roofing, and it works the same way for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and landscaping. Contacts, jobs, crews, schedules, estimates and invoices do not care what trade you are in. What changes is the vocabulary, the price book, and what the weather agent watches for.

## Rule 10: Leaving should be easy.

Lock-in is what software does when it is not sure it is worth keeping.

SayDoo is month to month. Every contact, job, photo, estimate and invoice exports in a format another system can read, whenever you ask, without a phone call.

> If we stop earning the bill, you should stop paying it.

## Hail at 2 a.m. A plan by six.

Here is the difference between software that records and software that works, on a single night.

- **2:14 am** National Weather Service reports 1.75 inch hail.
- **2:15 am** Storm path matched against every address in the book.
- **2:16 am** Customers inside the path flagged, warranties first.
- **2:18 am** A check-in drafted for each homeowner. Held, not sent.
- **2:19 am** Inspection slots held, worst hit first.
- **6:00 am** A sorted list waiting for the office. Nothing has gone out.

_Example data_

Nobody in your office was awake for any of it. At six, you read it, approve what you want, and it goes. That is rule five and rule six in the same morning.

## What owners ask first.

### What is SayDoo?

SayDoo is an AI console for trade businesses. It runs a roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or landscaping company on its own data and replaces the stack of rented apps: CRM, texting, scheduling, estimating, proposals, customer portal, crew app, job costing, email marketing and more, in one login.

### What does "results as a service" mean?

It means the software is judged by what gets done, not by how many people can log in. Proposals followed up, inspections booked, money found in quiet pipelines, and customers flagged after a storm. SayDoo is not priced per seat.

### Is SayDoo only for roofing companies?

No. It was built inside a roofing company, and that is where it is proven. Contacts, jobs, crews, schedules, estimates, invoices and follow-up work the same way for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and landscaping. What changes per trade is the vocabulary, the price book and what the weather agent watches for.

### How is SayDoo different from a contractor CRM?

A CRM records what happened and waits for someone to do the next thing. SayDoo does the next thing. Say "book the Hendersons Tuesday at two" and the appointment, task and note are created. It also replaces the other apps a CRM sits next to, and it is not priced per seat.

### Will the AI message my customers without asking?

No. Every automation arrives switched off. Preview shows exactly what would have gone out, to whom and when. The AI only sees what the person asking can see, and every change it makes is signed with that person's name.

### What happens to my data if I leave?

You take it. Every contact, job, photo, estimate and invoice exports in a format another system can read, whenever you ask, without a phone call. SayDoo is month to month.

### How much does SayDoo cost?

We do not publish a price, because the honest answer depends on what you are replacing. It is not priced per seat and has no tiers. There is a one time setup to move your book across, then one monthly bill. Bring your last software invoice to a demo and we will put both numbers side by side.

We may be the first company built like this. We will not be the last. The trades run the world, and they deserve software that runs for them: on their data, under their rules, for what it actually gets done.

**We are here to set business owners free. Their data, their money, their company.**

**Say it. Done.**
